Emirates Japan flights

Emirates adds one more milestone to its achievements! Emirates is the first airline to complete 15 years of operation to Japan from the Gulf region. The airline had launched non-stop four weekly flights between Osaka (Japan) and Dubai (the Gulf region) in October 2002. The airline has carried more than 3.9 million passengers in its 15 years of service to Japan. Currently, the airline is serving three destinations in Japan daily. This achievement demonstrates Emirates’ commitment to enhance the Japanese market by introducing innovative products and tailor-made services to its customers.

Emirates’ improvements on Japanese Market:

  • Opened a dedicated Emirates Lounge at Narita in 2015
  • Introduced A380 aircraft to Narita in 2017
  • The airline introduced night departs from Japan, allowing passengers to stay a full day in Japan before their flight.
  • The airline launched special Japanese cuisine like Kaiseki course meal, Bento box, Japanese sake, and Sushi platter in different travel classes.

Also, Emirates SkyCargo has played a vital role in linking the world, by transferring more than 60,000 tons of cargo between Dubai and Japan during April 2014 – March 2017. Current major cargo imports include cut flowers, salmon, and textiles as well as high-tech items such as machinery, auto parts, and other electrical goods.

Commenting on the milestone, Badr Abbas, Senior Vice President – Commercial Operations Far East of Emirates said: “Over the years, we have achieved healthy growth in our Japanese flights, as more and more customers experience Emirates’ award-winning service and our hub, Dubai. We are committed to the Japanese market and are confident that the demand in terms of both passengers and cargo will remain strong. At Emirates, we continue to innovate in providing a world-class service for business and leisure travel between Japan, Dubai and our global network. We look forward to continue supporting Japan’s growing inbound tourist numbers.”
