flydubai adds another milestone to Dubai’s aviation success story! The Dubai-based flydubai has become the first airline in the region to take the delivery of new aircraft, Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. It is the first aircraft delivered from 76 Boeing aircrafts order which had been earlier announced at the Dubai Airshow 2013.
The aircraft, bearing the UAE registration mark A6-MAX is the first aircraft from 76 Boeing aircrafts order. Six of these aircrafts will join the fleet by the end of 2017 Q4 while remaining aircrafts are scheduled to deliver by 2023.
Commenting on the occasion, flydubai’s Chairman, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum said: “At the 2013 Dubai Airshow we made history by placing the largest order for this aircraft type in the Middle East. This was made before this aircraft took its first commercial flight. To see that commitment being fulfilled today is another milestone in Dubai’s aviation success story. The efficiency and enhanced performance this aircraft promise is going to play an important role in the new chapter of flydubai’s growth strategy.”
The latest Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircrafts will improve the overall flydubai fleet performance, flexibility, and efficiency and supports to open new destinations. Initially, flydubai will deploy the latest aircrafts on the furthest points in its network. Bangkok, Prague, Yekaterinburg, and Zanzibar will be the destinations which will be operated by the MAX 8.
flyDubai flights operate from the airlines main hub at Terminal 2 at Dubai International Airport.
