flyDubai and Boeing Have Signed an Order for 175 MAX Aircrafts

flyDubai and Boeing have finalized the deal of purchasing 175 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. It marks a new history in the Middle East. The deal also includes an agreement for additional 50 aircraft. The aircraft deal is valued at up to $27 billion. flyDubai announced the purchase at the Dubai Show 2017. The deal allows the carrier to take benefits of the 737 MAX family’s flexibility and commonality while using the MAX 8, MAX 9, and MAX 10.

Boeing 737 MAX is the largest single-aisle aircraft. This is the largest fleet order in flyDubai’s history of eight years. The airline will receive the first aircraft from the order in 2019 and the rest deliveries would continue until 2029. In 2017, Boeing has received maximum orders for 737 MAX and has racked up 640 net orders till now.

The MAX family of aircraft can accommodate seating of 130 to more than 200. The MAX family of aircraft uses the latest technology CFM International LEAP-1B engines. It also features the Advanced Technology winglets and other enhancements to offer the highest efficiency with maximum passenger comfort.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO, flyDubai said: “I am delighted that we end 2017 with today’s announcement representing the next chapter in flyDubai’s success story. This is our largest order in our eight-year history and our third order with Boeing whose aircraft have given us the ability to carry 44 million passengers since we began operations. With up to 296 aircraft on order, we have become one of the world’s top ten airlines in terms of order backlog and we look forward to continuing to enhance the connectivity of Dubai’s aviation hub.”
